So, in keeping with your policy of eliminating bad news by not reporting it,  Congress has not been receiving any more reports on hours of electricity available per day in Bagdad.<br /><br />It may not matter to you but it matters to the average Iraqi, who may still have a place to live in. After six years of watching you dismantle our bill of rights and our constitution, I would say Bin Laden doesn't hate America and our freedoms as much as you do.<br />&nbsp;<br />During the Address to a Joint Session of Congress and the American People  you gave right after the towers fell, you said "Americans are asking, why do they hate us? They hate what we see right here in this chamber -- a democratically elected government. Their leaders are self-appointed. They hate our freedoms -- our freedom of religion, our freedom of speech, our freedom to vote and assemble and disagree with each other."<br />&nbsp;<br />These last six years have been a blur of lies, misdirection, distractions, and deceptiveness, Most of the activities you have initiated crippled america as we once knew it.<br />&nbsp;<br />These last six years have been filled with dozens of phony politicized terror alerts, millions of shoeless travelers queuing up at airport scanners, thousands of water bottles removed from thirsty travelers, truckloads of confiscated nail files, &nbsp;and multiple error-filled secret no-fly lists that kept terrorists like Cat Stevens from passing through our borders.  <br /><br />Although not a single real terrorist has been snared by these methods. many people were detained and often removed from planes for wearing the wrong shirt, flying while brown, or for praying in the terminal before their flight. Real terrorists like Bin laden are smart enough not to board any american flights with or without these procedures. But you were not smart enough to realize that. You are obviously not smart enough to catch Osama either. <br /><br />Despite your famous comment to get Bin Laden  dead or alive and billions of dollars dedicated to "fighting terror", Bin Laden is still around and al quaeda is as strong as ever, according to the latest </span><span style="font:14px Georgia, serif; color:#000000;"><a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2007/07/18/washington/18assess.html?ex=1342411200&en=6f41738fc95e3e2e&ei=5088&partner=rssnyt&emc=rss" rel="self">National Intelligence Estimate</a></span><span style="font:14px Georgia, serif; color:#000000;">. <br />&nbsp;<br />The cost to the American people was more than just in dollars; we have lost critical freedoms long associated with democracy, like habeas corpus and many other privacy rights, leaving us with a government foreign to anything our founders envisioned and more like what King George III had in mind back in 1775.<br /><br />Have you been channeling King George? Because it would answer a lot of questions.<br /><br />I bet George III didn't have access to as many spy agencies as you do. <br /><br />And yet they have not helped you very much. They recently issued the National Intelligence Estimate or NIE which strongly suggests that the net result from your Iraq war has been a boon for radical islamist recruiters around the world and Iraq itself has become an invaluable training ground for future terrorists that want to kill us. <br /><br />Believe me when I say this junior,  you have truly outdone your father and changed America in ways Bin Laden could only have dreamt about.<br />&nbsp;<br />The constant drone of fear mongering is becoming a self-full filling prophecy. <br /><br />Newly minted terrorists swayed by your violent and destructive occupation of an Arabic country has either reinforced or convinced  many Muslims that you have waged a jihad against them and their  religion.  Violence to reluctant Mid East allies like Pakistan, Egypt, and Jordan will pay for their indescretion. Saudi Arabia will also pay for their support as well and Turkey may even start their own war against the  Kurds to keep them from establishing their own state.<br /><br />Enough about our foreign policy fiascos; you have earned kudos from your efforts in Louisiana and New York as well.  The Katrina story is one big blot on your record junior, the recovery effort in New York is proving to be another one for the books.<br /><br />Six years after 9/11 the firemen and police departments still can't communicate effectively if another attack occurs. And many of those brave men and women who scrambled over the smoking pile of Twin Tower debris are now suffering debilitating lung disorders which your administration could have prevented. <br /><br />Judge Deborah Batts made a </span><span style="font:14px Georgia, serif; color:#000000;"><a href="http://www.cnsnews.com/ViewNation.asp?Page=%5CNation%5Carchive%5C200602%5CNAT20060206a.html " rel="self">ruling</a></span><span style="font:14px Georgia, serif; color:#000000;"> in a 83 page decision that the EPA purposefully misled people about the air quality around  the Twin Towers after they fell and denied Whitman any immunity from a class action lawsuit.<br /><br />Thousands of ground zero workers were told at the time that the air was safe to breath. I am sure many would have worked on "The Pile" regardless, but many would have worn protective equipment if they knew the truth. The air was toxic and your EPA director Christine Whitman knew it was toxic. <br /><br />As a result, tens of thousands of people are in danger of the aptly-named World Trade Center  Cough or WTC cough. WTC cough is characterized by a diminished lung capacity painful breathing and chronic coughing which have disabled and killed several people. The firemen who spent the most time there were immediately affected other victims soon followed.  <br /></span><span style="font:14px Georgia, serif; color:#000000;"><br />According to a recent </span><span style="font:14px Georgia, serif; color:#000000;"><a href="http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14681710/ " rel="self">Mount Sinai study</a></span><span style="font:14px Georgia, serif; color:#000000;">:<br />	&bull;	Almost 70 percent of World Trade Center responders had new or worsened lung symptoms after the attacks.<br />	&bull;	Among responders who had no health symptoms before the attacks, 61 percent developed lung symptoms while working on the toxic pile.<br />	&bull;	One-third of those tested had abnormal </span><span style="font:14px Georgia, serif; color:#000000;"><a href="http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14681710/#">lung function</a></span><span style="font:14px Georgia, serif; color:#000000;"> tests.<br />		<br /></span><span style="font:14px Georgia, serif; color:#000000;"><br />Several news sources claim or at least strongly suspect that you told Whitman to withhold all information which would delay the reopening the New York Stock exchange.<br /><br />So six years later tens of thousands of workers who helped our nation at a time of national emergency are either dead, dying, disabled&nbsp;or waiting for the full effect of WTC to hit home. Were those lives worth your rushing the reopening of the financial district?<br /><br />How do you square all of this? What can you say to answer for all of these world class disasters? <br /><br />Eric Edelman, the Defense Department's undersecretary for policy gave us a glimpse of one method you might plan to use to answer these issues, you step back and bravely blame the critics.<br /><br />Yesterday, Senator Clinton had asked the Pentagon to detail how it is planning for the eventual withdrawal of U.S. military forces from Iraq. As she once stated in May it would not be an easy logistical task to remove our equipment out of Iraq. But you will not let the U.S.S. Bush go down alone; you have successfully snared our Congress as you circle the drain. <br /><br />The long overdue investigations of your illegal politicization of our government using among others, Alberto Gonzalez's department, plus the threatened contempt of congress citation by Senator Pat Leahy are just this week's White House disasters.<br /><br />Disheartened and demoralized minority Republican legislators pushed by your small but powerful group of right-wing white evangelicals and xenophobic conservatives are willing to stagnate Congress. Republicans willing to pick up the right-wing baton are able and willing to kill off almost any legislative activity sponsored by Democrats. <br /><br />Subsequently, the dead locked Congress has joined you in your downward plunge in the polls.<br /><br />Besides Laura and Barney, the fanatics who comprise your base are all you have left. <br />Your last affront to America and her law was your commutation of Libby&rsquo;s sentence. <br /><br />After Scooter received his federal inmate number by the Bureau of Prisons (28301-016), and a </span><span style="font:13px Georgia, serif; "><a href="http://www.guardian.co.uk/uslatest/story/0,,-6752793,00.html" rel="self">federal appeals panel of judges</a></span><span style="font:13px Georgia, serif; "> unanimously ruled  that Libby was out of legal options, you had to do something to assuage the only supporters you had. You had to commute his sentence. You tempered it somewhat by not completely absolving him; yet anyway.<br /><br />The comparison which many Americans can understand, is that Paris Hilton can go to jail for a minor parole violation, but someone who was found guilty of obstructing justice in a federal investigation about outing a CIA spy is not a big deal and should not go to jail. Anyone who now believes Scooter did not have your prior promise not to go to jail before lying to the Grand Jury or to FBI agents is delusional.<br /><br /><br />You made Cheney and company happy but between this ruling and the republican sabotage of the immigration bill, you and your Republican buddies have almost guaranteed that a Democrat will win the presidency in 08&rsquo;.<br /><br />Timing is everything. You wanted to wait to absolve Scooter as you left office, but even you can't control the entire judicial system. So you were forced to make good on your promise and  overturn the court's decision. At least you are consistent. This is just like the signing statements you add to every decision made by Congress. You and Cheney have made it clear you are above the law.  <br /><br />This will prove to be more disastrous to the GOP, than firing Rumsfield after the November election in 2006.<br /><br />It&rsquo;s not as though you weren&rsquo;t unpopular enough with your poor performance on national issues, global warming and the Iraq war. Are you trying to purposely set a record for the lowest approval for Presidents since polls were started or have you calmly accepted the fact that your presidency is beyond redemption?<br /><br />If Democrats take this latest affront lying down, the nation may begin to consider the unthinkable; a third party.<br /><br />The lackluster performance of the new Congress and the prior lack of serious contention ny many Democrats, of any of your flawed programs not only decreases faith in government officials but short of leaving the country, many people may begin to think about a third political option.<br /><br />Is Bloomberg watching? Although he may be a dark horse, he would still take votes away from both Republicans and Democrats. <br /><br />Obama and Clinton are still the leading contenders. Obama&rsquo;s record setting fund raising effort should be a clue about where America&rsquo;s heart seems to be right now.   <br /><br />Is it any wonder, young discouraged voters are scurrying away from traditional candidates and to Obama, a new face, someone who has not been tainted by beltway shenanigans, or machine politics? <br /><br />Of the remaining leading Democrat contenders, Clinton has her work cut out for her. Edwards, although very appealing and progressive enough for many Democrats, has not hit a rich vein of donors, although he is still keeping up. The long race to the finish line may prove to be too debilitating if he does not get a surge in campaign donations. <br /><br />So, the beat goes on. Your base keeps clamoring for more and more as they see the door closing on their world and our soldiers keep dying in your failed invasion of Iraq. The average American keeps getting poorer while your rich friends keep reinvesting their tax-exempt stock dividends. <br /><br />I wonder what it may take for Americans to rebel against both parties if citizens continue feeling their votes can only continue to go to the worst of two options?<br /><br />Just because most voters know our political parties are flawed, it does not mean they will always keep putting up with the status quo. The key to keeping a third party out of the picture may be to make sure most Americans are not seriously outraged or inconvenienced.
