Mr. President,
If I had thrown a rock with my eyes closed inside Madison Square Garden when the Republicans held their convention; I bet I could easily have hit a soon-to-be convicted Republican. There are so many of them.
Corruption is more than a poison it is a republican lifestyle.

There is:

a sex scandal involving Duke Cunningham and other Capital Hill Republicans,
the drug addiction and arrest of of Republican talk radio mouthpiece Rush Limbaugh,
money laundering by Tom Delay,
convicted Congressman Duke Cunningham for bribery,
the perjury and obstruction charges against the vice president's main man, "Scooter" Libby,
a conviction for giving out government secrets to a foreign power by Rummy's Pentagon official Lawrence A. Franklin,
the pending perjury charges against your sidekick Karl Rove,
a conviction of James Tobin, the former New England Regional Director of the Republican National Committee for jamming phone service to five Democratic Party offices during the 2002 elections.
the conviction of former Gov. George Ryan on 18 corruption charges.
a pending investigation of Rep. Robert W. Ney from Ohio and lobbyist by federal authorities in Florida and the District for helping Abramoff and two partners to buy a Fort Lauderdale-based casino cruise line.
a federal investigation of your former commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, Lester Crawford.for financial hanky-panky and lying to Congress.

The list of Republicans investigated, convicted, and indicted is pretty long. The list is getting longer as federal investigators follow Abramoff's money trail to fellow Republican lawmakers for supporting his client's bills before congress. Check this link for a complete list.

It is a bad time to be a Republican and you aren't helping things. Today, you told Americans you think taxing oil companies is a bad idea, and immigrants should only sing about America in English. Bad idea junior, Americans are pissed no matter how much credit you take for the Stock Market, it doesn't translate into putting more money in their pockets, lower the cost of their energy costs, increase their job security or get them low cost health insurance.

Also, you are using the gas crisis to attempt to expand your presidential powers by hoping Americans will support your bid to decree milage standards without congressional approval. Don't think people are stupid, they notice those things.

Who needs Congress since you proclaimed yourself king anyway?

Mr. President,
I hear the politicians each trying to outdo the other on what to do about high gas prices. They shout, they scream at each other over what is the real reason for high prices. So many fingers are pointing so fast I am surprised someone hasn't lost an eye yet.

The oil company lobbyists are out in full force. The environmentalists are out there too. Gas stations all over Washington had camera crews and politicians ready for their photo op. Big talking heads on FOX push, the administration party-line-talking points like restaurants push their "blue plate" specials.

"Audit the companies!" "Tax their windfall profits!" "Rebate money to consumers!" "We need to stop driving as much!" "Cut back on pumping oil into our strategic reserves!"

The race is on to see which party can come up with the most pleasing solutions for consumers in their districts, when in reality most of the politicians just want to LOOK like they are doing something about it until November.

Since the Republicans run both houses I'll be surprised if they don't push some nonsense bills through so they LOOK like they care.

"Build more refineries, the oil companies have not built a new refinery in 30 years"
"They can't build them because of too much red tape!"

"No that's not true. Exxon memos show they decided to limit refinery capacity to keep prices high! "
"That's not true!"
"Yes it is!"

"It is because environmentalists wanted ethanol"
"No, that conversion is already done and it does not impact prices!"
"It's designer gasolines all the states want!"
"Each state had these requirements for years it's not new and shouldn't have raised the prices!"
yadda yadda yadda.

They remind me of hamsters running in their exercise wheels. They spin a lot but they don't really go anywhere.

The Bush curse has reached across the pond to "lap-boy" Tony Blair in England.

In addition to supporting your War in Iraq, he is catching hell over three of his most senior cabinet ministers who are fighting to save their careers.

Britain's Deputy Prime Minister, John Prescott's secret two-year love affair with a civil servant was discovered this week. Prescott used to joke about the opposition's sex scandals.

The Home Secretary, Charles Clarke, is under intense pressure to resign over a scandal when he admitted that he lost track of most of 1000 foreign prisoners that were released without holding them for deportation.

And the Australian-born Health Secretary, Patricia Hewitt, was heckled for the second time in a week by health service workers over National Health Service reforms and hospital job cuts.
Just knowing you seems to be such a handicap to people's career, just like in the Mummy's Curse.

Deny, deny, deny, is the hallmark tactic you have used so well and its getting old junior.

Today your State Department's counterterrorism chief said, "The world is safer because of your war on terrorism." I didn't see the video, but it is such an obvious lie, I would not have been surprised if he had starting laughing right after he said it.

In 2005 there were more than 11,000 terrorist attacks worldwide last year that killed 14,600 people that does not include an additional 8,300 deaths from insurgent attacks on Iraqi civilians. The death toll for our soldiers at 69 for April so far is the highest in last five months. Except for the number of coalition fatalities the other figures are new records.

One of Iraq's vice presidents, Adel Abdul Mahdi, said about 100,000 families were forced to move out of their homes because of sectarian violence. Some people call it civil war.
In light of all these facts you say the world is a safer place today? What color is the sky in your world?

You're in a pickle and in God we trust but not the FDA

Mr. President,
I hate to say it but you're in a pickle junior a real pickle. This gas price problem is a very big deal and as an ex-oil man you look guilty as hell. Your credibility is already non-existant.

You tend to use simple polarizing words to answer complex problems but I don't think you should try to explain how oil pricing works. You will only look silly trying to use your limited vocabulary. You can't use words like; good, evil, dead, alive, with us, against us, to describe this problem. Maybe your new press secretary can come up with some good weasel words.

I feel like a canary in a coal mine after I read about existing FDA practices and procedures.

First of all you nominated another family friend, Dr. Andrew von Eschenbach to serve as commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration.

When are you going to run out of college buddies and family friends to run critical departments?

The FDA turns out to be just another Bush-politicized agency like the CIA and the EPA. Ideology trumps science, and money trumps everything else. The way the FDA handled the "morning after " pill is one example.

In December 2003, an FDA advisory committee voted 23-4 to approve the pill called Plan B, called the "morning after" contraceptive pill. The FDA panel declared it was safe and effective for women 17 and older.
Your advocates against legalized abortion didn't want the pill available.

The FDA panel was overruled by the head of the agency, and the pill was not approved. Senator Clinton and Democrat Patty Murray of Washington State have vowed to block any vote on Bush-family friend, von Eschenbach's nomination until the FDA decides whether to allow over the counter sales of Plan B, an emergency contraceptive pill.

So we go round and round until someone blinks, meanwhile, women are denied another avenue to avoid unwanted children because of right-wing ideology and anti-abortion factions have something to cheer about.

The FDA has been in the headlines several times during your administration for failing to protect the public. The Government

Accountability Office GAO recently issued a report on the FDA after the well-publicized VIOXX recall.

Merck & Co. Inc. finally recalled arthritis pill Vioxx after it was linked to increased risk of heart attacks and strokes in long-term users.

They lost a third case this last Friday, when the court awarded $32 million in damages to the family of Leonel Garza, a 71-year-old retiree who died of a heart attack in 2001 after taking Vioxx.

So far Merck has lost three of the five multimillion-dollar lawsuits filed.
The crap really hit the fan after this recall. Several other FDA-approved drugs had also been recalled as well, so the Government Accountability Office began an investigation of the FDA.

To get FDA approval of a new drug, companies 'generally' conduct clinical trials with hundreds or thousands of volunteers to determine if the product is safe and effective, but some safety risks may not be known until it has been taken by millions of people.

So the agency approves products with the condition that companies should provide more data, but it does not have the authority to call for those studies. As of last Sept. 30, there were 1,231 studies that companies had promised to do. About two-thirds of those promised tests had not been even been started.

Cases of "adverse events," for instance, are reported on a voluntary basis! Neither the drug companies nor the FDA calls for doctors to report drug-related problems they encounter. Experts estimate that only about 10 percent are reported.

Since 2000, ten drugs have been withdrawn by their manufacturers for safety reasons.

Frequently the drug manufacturers knew about adverse and even deadly effects of their drugs but kept it secret. They made the decision the benefits of the drugs outweighed the negative impacct of recalls or removal from the shelves.

THEY DECIDED NOT THE FDA! THEY DECIDED WHAT WAS IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE? I am sure they never thought about the financial impact of disclosing harmful side effects of their drugs.

The U.S. really needs a separate office of drug safety. Like that's going to happen on your watch.

Nine of the panel's ten members on the National Institutes of Health-affiliated panel's acknowledge financial relationships with at least one statin manufacturer.

The GAO found the disorganization, bureaucratic infighting, unhealthy links to drug companies by FDA panel members, and an inability to force drug makers to conduct needed safety tests have kept the FDA from uncovering several dangerous drugs.

It was the British Committee on Safety of Medicines (CSM), the British equivalent of FDA that uncovered significant links of teenager suicides to anti-depressants. It was the CSM who shut down a U.S.plant in England when they uncovered the manufactured flu vaccine was contaminated. Our FDA had just inspected the plant and didn't find anything wrong.

The FDA is responsible for inspecting all plants that manufacture drugs and medicine for the US. Globalization has hit the legal drug trade like many other sectors, and the FDA does not seem to have enough resources. As of 2000, almost 80% of ingredients for US medicines are made overseas. I don't know how many of our drugs are made overseas this year.

Republican lawmakers argued that we couldn't import Canadian drugs because they were not under direct control by the FDA.
If they don't have enough people to check the foreign operations, what percentage of our drugs really are under direct control by the FDA?

I have a hell of a lot more faith in the British Committee on Safety of Medicines (CSM), than I do of your FDA junior. The CSM seems to consistently uncover dangerous drugs much earlier than the FDA.

I wasn't much for exercising and watching my weight; but until you leave the office and we get a competent president; well let's just say I found my motivation to stay healthy.

Red-faced irate Republicans and a new Iraq battle

Mr. President,
I can't turn the TV on today without hearing people bitch about the cost of gas.

I get a kick out of watching Republican leaders. They have been in charge of both houses these past years. Cheney took the issue of holding secret energy policy meetings with oil companies to the Supreme Court. Those Republican faces turn red with indignation as they rant about gas prices, even though they have pushed huge tax cuts for oil companies just last year.

House Speaker J. Dennis Hastert (R-IL) and Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-TN) was just on TV urging you "to direct the U.S. Attorney General and the Chairman of the Federal Trade Commission to investigate any potential gasoline price gouging or energy market speculation that could be contributing to high gasoline prices." They were just so animated as they stood together.

But today, behind the scenes those red-faced-indignant republicans decided to remove conditions, from a tax bill, that would force the oil companies to pay billions of dollars more in taxes on their profits.

Senate Republicans also killed an earlier Democratic proposal to make gas price gouging a federal crime. [S. 2020, Vote #334, 11/17/05; Seattle Post-Intelligencer, 11/18/05]

Republican leadership will only go so far in punishing an industry enjoying record-breaking profits, especially when a lot of those profits are going into republican re-election efforts.

It's just plain stupid to shoot the guys who bankroll your elections.
You just have to figure out how to spin it for the average working stiff who just filled up his car.

Welcome to Iraq's new flash point.

Turkish Troops are massing at one of Iraq's border while Iran has thousands of troops at their border with Iraq, yet that's not the story.

Turkish Troops at the border
Turkey has moved thousands of troops to the border region. They say the maneuvers are meant to deal with Turkish Kurd guerrillas called Kurdistan Freedom Falcons. The group based in the remote mountain areas in northern Iraq, has been responsible for eight bombings in Turkish cities in the past three months,

The Turkish-Kurd conflict has gone on for decades but these guerrilla attacks have escalated since you invaded Iraq.
You gave the Kurdistan Freedom Falcons rebels hope when you removed Saddam, hope for a separate Kurdish state.

Iranian Troops at the border
Meanwhile, Iran is amassing troops on Iraq's border 'to discourage Iraq Sunnis' from trying to infiltrate into Iran, they say.
Each of these issues adds to the instability in Iraq but Kirkuk may be the real flash point.

Shiite Militia moving into Kirkuk
Oil-rich Kirkuk has become an attractive target for Moqtada al-Sadr and he recently ordered Shiites to take control of the city away from Kurds.

A Washington Post article said hundreds of Shiite Muslim militiamen were deployed in recent weeks.Thousands of Shiite militias have reportedly vowed to fight for Moqtada al-Sadr's cause in Kirkuk.

Kurds won't go without a fight
Kurdish leaders have no intention of loosing control of the city they consider the historical capital of a Kurdish nation. They will not surrender those oil fields without a fight.

So what are you going to do? Let them fight it out and step in when the smoke clears? Or will you support the Kurds piss off the Turks and give the Turks an excuse to attack Northern Iraq?

Condi to the rescue?
Turkey is quite anti-American. Rice's visit was originally planned for Thursday, but it had to be changed after receiving threats of major demonstrations against your wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

When she finally got here this week, she was greeted with crowds of demonstrators carrying signs of "Condoleezza killer go home, hands off Iran." She met with Greek Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis and Prime Minister Costas Caramanlis.

Riot squads fired tear gas at demonstrators throwing gasoline bombs after they tried to reach the building where Condi was meeting with the Greek foreign minister.

She will be asked to help out militarily with the Iraq-Kurdish rebel situation in return for support in Iran.

Hell, U.S. commanders can't even keep up with the civil unrest and insurgent attacks in other parts of Iraq. So Condi more-than-likely, return home empty handed ... again.

None of this is unexpected. Even the talking heads on cable predicted the rise of the insurgency, the civil war, the border issues and the fight for oil-rich area within Iraq like Kirkuk, before you dropped the first bomb in Iraq.

I like people like you because you make millions of people feel smart in comparison.

A sign of the times

Mr. President,
I was driving around this last weekend and noticed several oddities.
There are normally only two seasons in my area, its either winter, or construction.

It seems like the moment the last snow flake of the season hits the ground. The traffic cones and construction barriers go up diverting traffic around perfectly good lanes, as people in orange jackets take over the roadways and speed limits on expressways drop to 45 miles per hour. Over the years, fines for exceeding speed limits through construction zones have been increased because reckless drivers have seriously injured and often killed street construction workers.

Street venders could make a fortune pushing their carts along the long line of cars usually lined up bumper to bumper on the roadways.

So I was pleasantly surprised this last weekend when I sailed through expressways, but it felt as though I was thrusted into an episode of the twilight zone until I realized how much I just spent filling my gas tank before I got on the expressway. I looked around me and realized the small fortune each of us are carrying in the belly of our beasts. Many people have obviously cut back on their driving.

When I got off the expressway and stopped at a red light I noticed a new business on the corner of the intersection and the uniqueness of its location. It really nailed what your administration has done to the general public. It was a pawn shop next to gas station and across the street from a drug store.

Despite, how bad things get there are always opportunities for people to capitalize on the situation. During the depression Dillenger, Bonnie and Clyde became folk heroes for robbing banks that foreclosed on destitute farmers. The banks made a fortune during those days.

In the very near future thanks to your new punitive bankruptcy laws it will be the credit card companies who will be foreclosing on people's houses. There are already articles hitting the paper about people living in their cars after losing their homes.

So unless something changes drastically, credit card companies, oil companies, and pawn shops may be tomorrow's prime benefactors of Bush economics. Now that many money transfers are all ones and zeros in electronic funds transfers. Who will be tomorrow's Dillenger to strike a blow for the common man?

Is it getting warm in here or is it me?

Mr. President,
This morning, I almost snorted my Cheerios out hrough my nose when I read you are waiting for private industry to come up with answers to reduce our CO2 emissions.

You have lowered permissible pollution limits since you took the office, giving major poluters a free pass; and now you want private industry to come to the rescue?

Fortunately, the courts have been knocking your EPA rulings down almost as fast as you come up with new ways to overturn previous limits imposed during the Clinton administration.

For example, the courts just struck down your EPA ruling making it easier for coal-burning power plants to avoid installing equipment to reduce pollutants. It's not the first of your EPA rulings they overturned.

You recently had someone meet with delegates from Australia, China, India, Japan, and South Korea last week in California for the first working sessions of the Asia-Pacific Partnership on Clean Development and Climate.

A very encouraging start, however only one of the six countries represented, Japan, actually committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 2012 under the Kyoto agreement. You refused to agree to Kyoto right after you moved into the West Wing.

I am concerned about your commitment to actually doing something about CO2 emissions junior.

Listen I'm glad you finally agreed with the world scientists that global warming is connected to increased CO2 pollutants. You haven't actually blamed mankind for causing the increased pollution, but at least you agree the world is getting warmer because somehow there is more CO2 in the atmosphere. I think you are the last world leader to get it, but Its a start.

According to environmental scientists increasing levels of CO2 emissions is at least partially responsible for of death and destruction from increased hurricane strength.

Elevated temperatures from these increased emissions also cause:
• more grass and forest fires because of unusual long hot dry weather.
• more damaged coastal areas due to increased sea levels.
• increased amount of extinction of many marine species resulting from increased acidity of the oceans.
• many lost crops because of long term drought conditions.
• increased number of health issues because of increased mosquito populations which thrive in warmer temperatures.
These are just a few of the highly probable effects of increased CO2 in our air.

At the meeting your delegate announced you would request $52 million for fiscal 2007 for this program to be spread among the departments of 'State, Energy, and Commerce, and the Environmental Protection Agency.'

The latest figures on the cost of the Iraq war is $9 billion per month.

That comes to $200 million per day based on a 30 day month;

$8,333.333 per hour based on 24 hours per day;

$138,889 per minute based on 60 minutes per hour.

If we calculate how much time it takes to spend $52 million in Iraq today, it comes out to $52million divided by $138.889.00 per minute which equals 6.24 hours. It takes 6 hours, 14 minutes, and 24 seconds to spend $52 million in Iraq.

If you would take just one month off your failed war in Iraq, you could use some of that money to providing major research incentives for universities to develop technology to install on processing equipment of major polluters to reduce CO2 emissions and maybe save lives, forests homes businesses, and health care costs. You know by now Iraq is just a black hole sucking up our tax money.

Here is the kicker; even without using Iraq-money you could mandate gradually but challenging reduction of emission standards for power plants, chemical factories, autos and trucks, without costing you a dime.

A real leader would have set a goal like developing energy saving, low pollution technology when they came into office.

President Kennedy stated his vision for the country when he challenged NASA to put a man on the moon. He also funded the effort. He didn't wait for someone in private industry to come up with the technology.

President Kennedy had many faults, but still; his presidency makes you look so petty and so small minded in comparison. The technology which grew out of the space race is still paying benefits.

You instead, have invested in war and weapons systems. The technology is so secretive you don't even share it with your allies much less private industry. Private industry could possibly transform your 'swords into plows' we can all use.

Several reminders of your time in the White House will be around for a long time: an overwhelming national debt, millions of people without health care or adequate schooling, hi-tech weapons, and another war monument with the names of dead soldiers on it.

Mr. President,
As President of the world's only superpower it must be hard to have people deny your requests. But, it is something you will have to get used to.
Cambodia says no.

You recently asked Cambodia to send troops to Iraq and Afghaanistan. They reminded you they just went through 30 years of fighting and they are tired of war.

They hear the news, they see the carnage on TV; they know about the thousands of kidnappings. It was only natural for them to refuse your request. After knowing what they lived through, only a heartless bastard would even ask. Your only excuse for asking them to begin with has to be your ignorance of their culture and history.

India and Pakistan say no way.

These three countries have been working closely on signing a gas pipeline deal when you asked India to stop their dealings with Iran. This huge project has been planned to route a large gas pipeline through Pakistan to India from Iran.

The three countries have been working on this $7 billion project for over a decade. Tensions between Pakistan and India held the deal up for several years. political distrust religion and land disputes kept things dicey between the two. Hell they fought three wars in the last 52 years. But they have finally settled their differences enough to agree on this pipeline project. According to the Hindu Times back in July of 2000 Pakistan would earn $500 million by purchasing Iranian gas from this pipeline. According to the Times of India, Pakistan President Musharraf once stated the development of the pipeline are "the country's economic salvation and will "break an age old dependence on cotton and textiles as Pakistan's main export earners"

Do you think India and her booming economy and for that matter Pakistan, would turn down an offer to receive years worth of energy from the world's second biggest natural gas supply estimated at 812 trillion cu ft, because you say so?

Iranian Oil Minister Kazem Vaziri said he had an understanding with India and Pakistan and he was 'unconcerned' by your 'opposition' to the deal. Pakistan's oil minister Amanullah Khan Jadoon told Reuters that it was a done deal except for ironing out some technical issues. The Indian oil minister Murli Deora declined to comment, but the three oil ministers will attend a ministerial meeting in Tehran this June.

I know you felt good after working out a deal to give India nuclear technology, but India also recently stated it wouldn't make any explicit commitment to the United States not to conduct fresh nuclear tests as part of the deal you just made with them. They categorically refused to sign the Comprehensive Test Ban Treat.

Adding insult to injury, India left you out of a deal to buy nuclear fuel and chose to buy it from Russia instead.

Speaking about your buddy Pooty Poot, Russia joins the chorus, and says nyet.
You practically begged Russia for the third time this last week to stop the sale of air-defense missile systems to Iran.

They said they have every intention of delivering the 29 Tor-M1 air-defense missile systems to Iran, which the Russians stress are defensive in nature.

Besides refusing to stop the weapons sale, Russia also rejected your request to end their cooperation in the construction of a nuclear power plant in Bushehr, southern Iran.

You get no respect what-so-ever from all around the world.
How does it feel for the most powerful man in the world to get so screwed and not even get a dinner out of it.

I'll say one thing though, you surely got kissed, kissed off that is.

There are numerous news stories as well as first-hand accounts describing your consultation with your God before deciding to invade Iraq. You said, 'God told me to strike at al Qaida and I struck them, and then he instructed me to strike at Saddam, which I did."

Your words constantly 'leak over' from your religious beliefs to your foreign policy. Terms you use to depict your views on "global war on terror" come out of your mouth as a struggle between good and evil.

You believe your invasion of Iraq is merely fulfilling your duties as the executor of God's divine will.
When you were asked whether you had asked your father, for advice on what to do in the mid east, you replied that your earthly father was "the wrong father to appeal to for advice ... there is a higher father that I appeal to."

Zealot's have long used their God's guidance to start wars. You are not the first nor the last to use a God for your own purposes.

Back in the eleventh century, European Christians also coveted something the Muslims owned; it wasn't oil; it was the land they lived on. The land was considered holy by all Christians because Christ had lived and died there.

Pope Gregory VII called for the Roman Catholic version of a 'fatwa' against the Muslims. He called for milites Christi "soldiers of Christ" to battle the Seljuk Turks in Persia known today as Iran.

He was pretty much ignored until Pope Urban II initiated the idea of a Crusade to capture the Holy Land. He exclaimed the reason for the crusades was "Deus le vult! " "God wills it!" This is how the holy wars started.

According to wikipedia, "The Papacy saw the Crusades as a way to assert Catholic influence as a unifying force, with war as a religious mission. This was a new attitude to religion: it brought religious discipline, previously applicable to monks, to soldiery—the new concept of a religious warrior and the chivalric ethos."

It was as though you copied your term paper from the Vatican library.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Iran's President, used the very same rational. "Today, you are among the world's most powerful armies because you rely on God," Ahmadinejad declared at a parade to commemorate Army Day.

Ahmadinejad also said Iran's army would "serve peace and security for mankind especially the region and its neighbours."

So whose God is more powerful? Our God; of course, because God created America.
Those bastards in the mid east killed God's son, so he can't be too happy with them. I am not sure about Iran; I believe they must be praying to God-knows-who.

Perhaps the second try at pulling together a group of nations will be the charm.

Your efforts to pull together a powerful coalition after failing to get the UN to support your war against Iraq was such a joke. Why do you think this time it will be different?

Both China and Russia are reluctant to bow to your will and impose sanctions on Iran. For some reason, you refuse to deal with Iran directly or with North Korea. You would rather work indirectly through other nations. What are you afraid of?

R. Nicholas Burns, under Secretary of State for political affairs and the lead envoy on Iran said, "it's not beyond the realm of the possible that at some point in the future a group of countries could get together, if the Security Council is not able to act, to take collective economic action collective action on sanction."

You are so popular, I believe some of the original coalition countries the likes of Tonga and Moldova may consider joining you again.

Mr. President,
What kind of clowns do you have at national intelligence? John Negroponte the director just told the world how many people actually work for the agency and Mary Margaret Graham, a top deputy to Mr. Negroponte, disclosed the size of the departments' budget was budgeted last year.

The number of people and the budget had always been a closely guarded secret but apparently there must be some political reason. Negroponte may be an incompetent spy master, but he is a first rate politician.

According to Negroponte the United States' has nearly 100,000 people spying throughout the world. His assistant had earlier divulged the governments agencies' budget last year was $44 billion.

He seems to be quite proud of his kingdom, but hard pressed to explain why his super funded agency with nearly 100,000 spies have not been able to find a 6 foot tall diabetic Bin Laden that needs occasional medical treatment.

It's all smiles for the cameras with China's President but the various sleights at the ceremonies will not be unnoticed by the detail-minded chinese that prepared every detail of this visit.

Meanwhile back at the Pentagon they are working furiously to develop a strategy to counteract China's growing military.

According to Robert Burns, AP military writer, more submarine fleets are moving to the Pacific and a new carrier will be assigned to the Pacific fleet. The Air Force is improving B-2 bomber deployment from Guam. While the marines have been working a deal out with Japan to relocate their bases.

I don't know how you can lecture China about human rights violations.

You hold hundreds of suspects without trial or formal charges for years at a time at Guantanimo.

And when you were governor of Texas, you personally allowed a record number of prisoners to be executed even though several of their trials were a mockery of justice.

I have heard of the pot calling the kettle black but you are, a black hole of compassion calling the kettle black.

When you recently gathered almost 1, 200 migrants, you wrecked a lot of lives, oh well. The controversial immigration problem continues to be pumped up. Your magical guest worker plan languishes somewhere on some staffer's desk, as thousands and thousands of undocumented immigrants remain at the mercy of employers and strong-willed but frightened Republicans. They need something to run on so they trumped up the immigration issue as part of their 2006 platform to reign in your base.

What was it Rove told you? Keep it simple and stick with just four issues. Thanks to you, Republicans don't have very much else to run on right now. Rove only needs three more trust-us-we-can-fix-this issues. I think the magic word here is 'trust', and you don't have too much of it left in your party.

You have lurched from crisis to crisis in recent months and Republicans up for re-election are as nervous as a long tailed cats in a room full of rocking chairs.

Goodbye McClellan, his credibility was almost lower than yours. Killing your messenger because the public doesn't like your message won't make a difference. It's your message that needs to change junior.

You did however have to do something with Rove. You were behind the eight ball you had to offer Rove to help Republicans plan dirty campaign strategies for their re-election.

Face it junior, Rove's replacement, Joel Kaplan is no Karl Rove so your chances of implementing your agenda is about the same as being canonized by the Catholic Church.

You are a lame duck and according to Rolling stone Magazine and millions of others "the worst president in history."

I don't have to be a fortune teller to know you will continue to take flack for all your screw-ups as Republicans up for election put their fate into Rove's hands.

Although he remains under investigation for possible perjury charges related to the leak of a CIA official's identity in 2003. It's the only chance you have to keep Republicans in power especially since you decided to keep Rummy on. He is another albatross.

I know why you wouldn't allow Rummy to resign. Rummy offered to resign twice because he knows he screwed up very badly. Holding him accountable for the handling of the Iraq war, would mean you would be wrong. And since you initiated the war after discussing it with your God, it may mean your God was wrong too and your God is NEVER wrong!

So the oneness is on you now. An increasing portion of all future criticism of the war will bounce off Rummy and hit you. Which begs the question how much medication will you need to pretend none of this matters to you

Is it a coincidence that Halliburton is building internment camps in the United States while Homeland Security staged raids across the country scooping up hundreds of undocumented immigrants?

KBR, the Halliburton subsidiary won a $385 million contract to build the center for establishing temporary detention and processing capabilities, to "augment existing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, ICE Detention, and Removal Operations Program facilities."

In April 2002, Defense Dept. officials implemented a plan for domestic U.S. military operations by creating a new U.S. Northern Command (CINC-NORTHCOM) for the continental United States. Rummy called this "the most sweeping set of changes since the unified command system was set up in 1946."

According to the Washington Post, Karl Rove told the governor of Louisiana, Kathleen Babineaux Blanco, that she should impose martial law "or as close as we can get." The White House couldn't make Gov. Blanco give over control of the state National Guard, but they tried. You are obviously serious about imposing martial law the first chance you get.

These detention centers will probably be hi-tech versions of WW II Japanese internment camps.

On Thursday Immigration agents arrested seven executives and hundreds of employees in at least eight states on Wednesday as part of a crackdown on employers of illegal workers.
The official charge was that they "conspired to transport, harbor, and encourage illegal workers to reside in the United States for commercial advantage and private financial gain," said Glenn T. Suddaby, the chief federal prosecutor in Albany, N.Y. IFCO Systems is a German-based pallet services company with several locations in the United States.

This coordinated set of raids is probably not the last. According to MSNBC, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesperson, Julie Myers are working together to continue along this path.

Where did you put those hundreds of immigrants?

Did Halliburton finish one of those undocumented immigrant internment camps already?

Condi's killer friends

Mr. President,
Condi meets with some pretty unsavory characters these days. Take Equatorial Guinean President Teodoro Obiang Nguema for instance.

Is she setting up another extraordinary rendition camp in Equatorial Guinean? Because she is talking to the right guy for that. Their oil makes them very likable, and it speaks volumes about our foreign policy with dictators.

"Good morning. Welcome. I'm very pleased to welcome the President of Equatorial Guinea, President Obiang. We will have a full set of discussions about our bilateral relationship, about some innovative social programs that USAID is involved with and about the range of regional issues that we both confront. So thank you very much for your presence here. You are a good friend and we welcome you," Condi said on April 12, 2006.

Obiang executed his uncle and seized power in a 1979 coup. Powell's State Department condemned them regularly for human rights violations, including torture, beatings, abuse and deaths of prisoners and suspects.

He has been called one of the most brutal, most corrupt dictators in the world, a dictator who could be lunatic Kim Jong Il's little brother without the nukes.

Equatorial Guinea is about the size of Maryland and has a population of about 521 000, but government officials receive most of the money from the oil reserves estimated at 1.28-billion barrels.

The US had once frozen bank accounts belonging to Obiang and his family worth hundreds of millions of dollars after the funds were discovered in American bank accounts.

The IMF and the World Bank have cut Equatorial Guinea off from many aid programs since 1993, because of corruption and mismanagement.

They are no longer eligible for concessional financing because of their newly discovered large oil revenues.

Then they found oil, and now they are your friend.

American oil companies rushed into the small country. According to the Washington Post, the companies formed business ventures with government officials, hired Obiang's companies, and rented property from government officials and their relatives while most of the population remains destitute.

Most of the citizens live on about $1 a day. Three of four residents suffer malnutrition. Sounds like a future model for the United States; big companies and government officials get richer while the number of poor people continues to grow.

The Securities and Exchange Commission is investigating Exxon Mobil Corp., Amerada Hess Corp., Marathon Oil Corp., ChevronTexaco Corp., Devon Energy Corp. and CMS Energy Corp., Vanco Energy Co., and last but not least, mr "locked and seriously loaded." Cheney's company Halliburton Company for illegal business practices.

It might sound quaint like the Geneva Convention but under the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, it is against the law to bribe foreign officials for obtaining or keeping business.

Coincidentally the enforcers of this law your Justice Department and SEC, could not provide statistics to the Post on the number of oil companies that have been accused of violations. A Justice Department spokesman said no officials wanted to discuss enforcement of the act.

Imagine that.

You criticize other countries about their human rights when it is politically convenient but accept so many of them readily when they are pliable oil-rich dictators.

Anyway you cut it you really boosted President Teodoro Obiang Nguema's image in Africa.

Congratulations, on demoting Rove and firing McClellan. McClellen actually had less credibility that you have.

Ma Bell and Big Brother make quite a pair. You were made for each other. You want to peek into everyone's lives and ma has all the connections.

Ma Bell has miles and miles of connections across the country. Mark Klein an AT&T technician used to work in the San Francisco office and witnessed some suspicious behavior by his company and the NSA in 2002.

Klein was a sneaky little bastard because although he just retired, he kept a few incriminating documents about some very sophisticated equipment installed in a secret room. He kept this secret to himself until he heard about your illegal domestic spying deal with the NSA.

The Electronic Frontier Foundation, E.F.F. is using Klein and these documents to sue At&T for helping you illegally spy on American citizens

The equipment Klein described is capable of monitoring large quantities of e-mail messages, Internet phone calls, and other Internet traffic.

The New York Times reported that the agency had gathered data from phone and e-mail traffic with the cooperation of several major telecommunications companies.

According to Klein, one of theses multimillion dollar telecommunications centers was installed in San Francisco and another is probably in Atlanta. Other hubs are probably situated across the country near major switching centers. According to equipment experts who reviewed the documents, all these hubs are easily configurable to identify and intercept voice or data conversations between e-mail, telephone, or Internet addresses, for use within the country not just from foreign sources.

You must have rooms full of hard drives. Just remember to back it all up. Like my teacher once said Jesus saves and so should you.

China's checkbook vs U.S. gunboat diplomacy

What can you say when a high level dignitary on a highly publicized visit of the United States decides you are number two on his list of people to see?

I guess you'll have to grin and take it because it is China. President Hu Jintao will begin his trip in America with a dinner at Bill Gates' house, the chairman of Microsoft.

China's much touted visit to America has been preceded with a flurry of spending by the Chinese.
China has been spreading money around the U.S. like a drunken sailor on leave, a very very rich sailor that is. We can't complain too much about their checkbook diplomacy; we have used the same tactic on many poorer nations throughout the years. Now we are the 'poorer' nation, I guess. That has to be a blow for Americans if they stop and think about it.

We should be thankful they are spending the money here although they are just recycling billions of dollars Americans spend at Wal Mart. Another reason to be nice to them is because they have become one of our major bankers as they continue to buy an enormous amount of the huge American debt you created.

Now is a good time to remind you about what Mr 'locked and seriously loaded " Cheney said back in late 2002 to then-Treasury Secretary Paul H. O'Neill.

"Reagan proved deficits don't matter," Cheney said.

In 2003 before you invaded Iraq, he also said The Iraqi's will welcome us with open arms and greet us with flowers."

I could continue about how often Cheney has been 100 per cent wrong about critical issues, but you are the person who acts on his input.

So now it is time to do your penance for listening to Mr. walking heart attack, you have to play the genial host and be deferential to the Chinese president.

You have had a huge dry spell junior; you need to show some progress with China. With little collateral except our military weapons and no support from Capital Hill, it'll be a good trick.

You need to make some headway with China's currency policy or establish more equitable trade policies.

So play nice because you need China's help to stem piracy of intellectual material, and China's billions of dollars of American goods. China can refuse to purchase any more of your debt or even sell a ton of American dollars and cause a lot of problems. They can also block any UN sanctions you propose against Iran.

Somehow during his visit you want to tell them to keep their hands off of South America although it's your fault South America looks to countries like Iran, India and China.

Most of South American countries hate you junior. Many of them refuse to sign trade agreements or sign an agreement pledging not to turn American citizens over to the International Criminal Court.

In February Venezuela pledged to ship 300,000 barrels of crude a day to China, up from 160,000 barrels, and Beijing recently made a deal to acquire Ecuadorean oil assets worth $1.4 billion.

In November 2004, Chinese President Hu Jintao pledged tens of billions of dollars to improve the region's infrastructure of Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Cuba,

Chinese analysts said their nation's expanded military relations with Latin America are part of its growing political, economic, diplomatic, and military ties around the world.

China is simultaneously building up their own weapon systems and anti-missle capabilities. At least they gave you an excuse to build up your missiles and nuclear weapons.

China has got you by the short ones. The immediate stakes for Boeing, Microsoft and 4,000 other software companies are high. The Chinese also made deals with the big three automakers as well.

As you stand and smile for photo ops with President Hu Jintao, ask yourself how soon China will eclipse America's role in global politics and how will you compete with China for every drop of available oil when nobody loves you.

Sending the USS George Washington aircraft carrier strike group to the Caribbean last week serves a two fold purpose. You are showing China how easily you could still project your military power even with so many ground forces committed in the Mid East, while intimidating those South American leftist leaders like Hugo Chavez who is sitting on top of one of the largest oil reserves in the world..

You're saying 'this is mine' you are not welcomed. Many South American countries may say they don't belong to anybody and resent your use of such a show of force. Let's hope this does not backfire and only strengthen many South American counties' resolve to break away from the United States.

I doubt if you will be able to intimidate South America and President Hu Jintao, but it's really all you know, it's all you have. Gunboat diplomacy.

While China showers America with money to get it's way all you can do is threaten to rain death and destruction.

Vietnam and unlikely heroes

Mr. President,
Happy Easter, do you think your ratings will rise back from the dead?
Sometimes news articles appear in the oddest order.

One day there is an article about Vietnam's corrupt state-controlled media ruling Communist Party National Congress.

A multi-million dollar bribery and football match betting scandal led to Transport Minister Dao Dinh Binh resigning and the arrest of a deputy minister. The schemes involving gifts, mistresses, use of cars, houses. Public officials gambled with millions of dollars from public coffers.

The next day there is an article about House Speaker Dennis Hastert on a three-day visit to Vietnam urging the Congress to ignore the country's religious and human rights constraints. Hastert wants Congress to pass a deal that would allow Vietnam to join the World Trade Organization, saying the "greater good" outweighed human rights concerns.

Vietnam recently told the House of Representatives to 'stuff' their concerns about human rights. A Vietnam spokesman described a previous resolution by the House of Representatives to release 30 democracy and religious activists as unacceptable interference in its internal affairs and said it had no "prisoners of conscience."

Funny how these articles juxtaposition the issue of corruption and human rights as seen by a Dennis Hastert against the other view held by the House of Representatives.
Knowing how our Republican Congress has operated in the past four years, all I can say is:

Money talks, human rights; mmmm not so much.

Could our soldiers 30 + years ago have imagined, we would reward Vietnam in their lifetime while our government continues to ignore our vets who are still trying to get treated for agent orange exposure and other Vietnam war-induced illnesses? America, what a country.

This is a hurray-for-our-Constitution story. Heroic librarians stand up to the FBI and win.

The FBI tried to use the Patriot to coerce a library into producing a patron's records. The librarians refused because the FBI refused to identify the specific threat that person posed.

Many Americans have always feared the Patriot Act could give you the legal cover to spy on innocent Americans. This incident proves it was not an unsubstantiated fear.

Time after time you have shown your brazen abuse of power.

There have been so many recent examples; such as your NSA domestic spying program, the declassification of information for political purposes to discredit a political foe and now this, conducting a fishing expedition of a person's library usage information hoping to find something incriminating without prior cause. Where did you go to school, a Hitler youth camp?

You also lost the battle regarding the Patriot Act by dropping a gag order imposed on a library that refused to reveal a reader's record of books they borrowed.

The library which refused to cooperate is thought to be on the East Coast.

Once the court procedures are complete, the ACLU plan to hold a news conference to introduce the heroic librarians.

Congratulations, once again you have risen to meet the worst of our expectations junior.

Why do you make it so hard for smart people?

Mr. President,
Events like the Biotechnology Organization's annual convention in Chicago are a godsend for foreign recruiters these days. Countries like Japan, South Korea and China and Singapore are all vying for the best of the best and America is in their sights.

Singapore has spent $4 billion on biotechnology and has committed another $8 billion through 2010. They are considered the "Boston of the east" and may soon pass the United States in their run for biomedical supremacy.

The United States is losing its ability to attract and keep the brightest scientists and engineers from around the world. We have also lost at least a whole generation of foreign born expertise. Foreign exchange students used to flock to American universities across the country. Those students learned about American ideas and fostered American relationships back home.

The lack of foreign students is part of a double whammy for the U.S. because the percentage of Americans graduating with degrees in science and engineering is less than half of the comparative percentage in China and Japan.

Millions of American kids are in jeaprody. Bil Gates has traveled the world and says he is terrified for our children's future. We are 25th in the world in math this year and dropping every year. Our kids will not be able to compete with the rest of the world. We are loosing a whole generation of children because our nation's school systems are such a disaster. "No Child Left Behind" has also ensured a whole generation of children will be left behind. Teacher teach to the test which assures federal funding, required by the district while abandoning all other forms of education.

When you cut state aid you put the country's education system in a stranglehold almost dictating how the schools will teach our kids. Affluent school districts have the school funds thus the freedom to teach a variety of subjects and the latest equipment while poor districts have no choice at all but to try and teach kids how to pass the test which determines funding. Many poor schools can't even do that. I have heard of figures as low as 6% of the kids from inner schools will go to college. What will the 94 per cent of the inner city kids do? American's can't keep their heads in the ground very long before that 94 per cent figure will affect them. personally

Race is another factor in our brain drain. The race problem still smolders under the veneer of "equal opportunity" statements on the bulletin boards. If some black and hispanic kids want to excel; they have to almost smuggle books home so their friends won't suspect they are studying. If they are caught studying they are accused of "acting white."

The amount of published research by Americans has also fallen. A series of top physics journals, recently tracked a significant reversal in the number of submitted American papers. We used to have the most number of papers submitted, now we are on the bottom of that list.

According to American Association for the Advancement of Science, Britain is about 1% of the world’s population, funds 4.5% of the world’s science and produces 13% of the most cited scientific papers. One in five of the world’s top 75 medicines were discovered and developed in Britain. Britain has produced 10 Nobel Science Laureates in the last 15 years.

Issues like cloning also enter the discussion because cloning is legal in the UK, Israel and Australia. The US Government bans any form of human cloning in America. This legislation forced many scientists to leave the United States and go to other countries, because their work carries prison sentences and severe fines.

Scientists were already leaving the US because you refused to sponsor any federal government research involving any type of embryonic stem cells, including those derived from frozen embryos discarded by fertility clinics.

Foreign-born engineering students and scientists are not returning for their masters and doctorate degrees for the same reason businesses are also not able to bring in enough hi-tech workers from overseas, obtrusive and discriminatory immigration policies. The number of foreign students enrolled at American colleges and universities dropped significantly since you took office. For example, Harvard, applications from Chinese students have declined as much as 40 percent for some graduate programs. Enrollment has declined for 15 of the top 25 host universities some as large as 23 percent.

Some countries have established new colleges, stemming the supply of students heading to the United States. Booming economies have also kept more students at home in many countries, while aspiring international students are barred, blocked or frustrated from coming here.

The Department of Homeland security has not done anything significant to balance America's interest in safeguarding America and attracting foreign students, engineers, programmers and scientists. Just the opposite has happened. Foreign scientists have to run a gauntlet of security measures that has not significantly changed since 9/11. They are in a no win situation. If they loosen up the restrictions they may allow a terrorist to enter, but if they don't ease up some, they add to the country's brain drain. Singapore has been especially effective at hiring away some very talented scientists.

Lucrative pay, state-of-the art labs and nearly unlimited government support have lured many.
In all, the country has managed to recruit about 50 senior scientists this time around, but they have higher goals in mind.

Another 1,800 younger scientists from all corners of the world staff the Biopolis laboratories, which cost $290 million in government funding and another $400 million from private investment.

Biopolis opened in 2003 and contains seven buildings spread over 10 acres and connected by sky bridges.

Your defunct education system and the global economy made it hard enough to develop and retain hi-tech workers, your; narrow-minded beliefs on stem cells; discriminatory visa application process, and self-fulfilling prophecy of low expectations for poor children as other countries meet more and more for their medical and technical needs pretty much seals our fate until we get real leaders to address these critical issues.

Until then the average American who will depend on foreign countries for technological and medical breakthroughs as they look for safer neighborhoods to live in.

If you don't believe me, watch TV and listen for the name of the countries where medical breakthroughs are happening. And pay attention to the number of drug crimes, met labs uncovered and the age of the criminals. You'll understand what many of those in that 94 percent bracket who did not go to college, are doing.

I am truly amazed how bad you have been for America on so many fronts, if someone wanted to bring the country down to its knees they couldn't have done a better job.

I am losing track how many generals are asking for Rummy to resign and how many agree with you?

It sounds like a wrestling match.

"In this corner" we have "Rummy the Dummy" at 160 lbs or so, a senile but combative Bush loyalist. In the other corner we have retired generals "Marine Corps General Anthony Zinni, Major General Charles Swannack, Major General John Riggs, Maj. Gen. John Batiste, Lt. Gen. Gregory Newbold, Army Maj. Gen. Paul Eaton."

As the match continues the commentary keeps coming in.

"A lot of them are hugely frustrated," in part because Rumsfeld gave the impression that "military advice was neither required nor desired" in the planning for the Iraq war, said retired Lt. Gen. Wallace Gregson.

Even Condi slipped up last week and let her frustration show when she said, "The United States had made thousands of "tactical errors " in handling the war in Iraq." Rummy had a little talk with her afterwards and Condi sheepishly said she meant it figuratively. Yea, right..

Officers aren't stupid, they know war means soldiers will die, but they have a little problem when they believe soldiers are dying because an old fart refuses to listen.

Military leaders have always known soldiers obey more willingly when they have confidence in their leaders. The converse is just as true; dissent and moral breaks down when there are ample indications leadership has been inexperienced, and sometimes plain incompetent.

Rummy had problems with his generals from day one because they saw how incompetent he was. Rummy replaced competent officers with politically-savvy but not-so competent and pliable officers.

Many career officers are leaving because of Rummy's belligerent and belittling attitude with dissenting generals. Where will tomorrow's leaders come from? Who cares you'll be on some golf course by then.

Even young officers straight out of West Point have been leaving immediately after their commitment. You had to spend a considerable amount of money to curb the exodus of the young officers.

It was only a matter of time before your generals got fed up with Rummy. This will surely raise the moral of the troops on the ground to hear their commanders taking a stand against the person who sent so many brother soldiers to their graves so needlessly.

The war plan must be complete by now because Rummy is busying himself lining up puppet generals to go before the cameras for 'I Heart Rummy' sound bytes to counter all the recently retired generals who say he should retire and play with his grandkids on a beach somewhere.

Iran has to be dealt with, and you’re just the heartless bastard to do it.

You proved that you can drop bombs on any population anywhere anytime for any reason. You have phosphorous rounds, cluster bombs, depleted uranium, fuel air bombs, daisy cutters, and nuclear bombs ready to go. The only thing we make really well is weapon systems If you want to continue as the premier arms dealer to the world you got to show people what these puppies can do.

Call CNN in Tehran and tell them to get their butts up to their hotel roof to get ready for a hell of a show.

The tough part will be to come up with a catchy name. You can call it "Operation Mideast Peace" or "Operation World Peace." My personal favorite is "Operation Whack a Mole," like the arcade game.

You have to give FOX TV a heads-up to get more American flag graphics for their broadcasts.

So bombs away junior, it's not as though you were counting on receiving the Nobel Peace Prize.

The previous total of 2,752 people killed at the Twin Towers on 9/11 has increased by one, a very special one.

According to the AP article the death of a 34-year-old police detective after working at ground zero and is directly attributed to the clean up efforts after Sept. 11, 2001.

Is this person your first official sacrifice to Wall Street? if so it's very likely several thousand will follow in the next decade.

The Fix
You and the National Security Council edited the reports from EPA scientists before they went out to the public back then. Christine Todd Whitman, the EPA administrator at the time, told Newsweek that she did not object to the White House editing out cautionary notes from EPA scientists and said the public was not harmed by the White House decision to use reassurances about air quality right after the attack.
Right after the attacks, EPA Deputy Administrator Linda Fisher’s chief of staff e-mailed senior EPA officials to let everyone know that “all statements to the media should be cleared” first by the National Security Council where they were edited according to an EPA's inspector general’s report. The resulting reassuring report on the quality of the air, kept thousands of people working on the site.

The EPA said that after analyzing nearly 20,000 samples of air, dust, and water in lower Manhattan, Brooklyn, Staten Island, and New Jersey, the risk for long-term health effects is very low." An EPA inspector general's report also stated, "Whitman assured the public that the air was safe to breathe before tests were even taken on PCBs, soot and dioxin, and the results they did have were inconclusive."
The EPA issued five press releases within 10 days of the attacks and four more by the end of 2001 reassuring the public about air quality

The Reality
That truth is, the air those people were breathing, day after day and week after week, was extremely toxic. Everything that was in those towers had been vaporized. Some of the most toxic and carcinogenic substances known were inhaled with every breath. Dioxins, asbestos, and PCBs were 32 times the level of "hazardous waste." There was and maybe still is asbestos pulverized glass, mercury, cement, PCB's, and dioxins benzofurans, lead and radioactive Americium from smoke detectors as well.

The EPA with guidance from the White House, systematically misled New Yorkers about the risks the resulting air pollution posed to their health.

This MO (modus operandi) sounds very familiar.

A draft E.P.A. report released last December conceded that 9/11 had led to huge emissions of pollutants. Particularly, releases of carcinogens that can also damage the nervous system and cause birth defects. The levels were up to 1,500 times normal levels, the highest ambient concentrations ever reported.

I noticed you didn't stick around very long after your bullhorn photo op at ground zero.

But Why?
As I read all the reports about how you deceived the public about the toxicity of the air, I can't understand why you would knowingly send those people into danger like that. What could possibly be so important that you would sacrifice the health of thousands of people'? What was to be gained?

The only logical reason would be, to keep the New York and conversely the American economy from possibly faltering and quickly reopen New York and the New York Stock Exchange for business.

Another deadly Legacy
At least 22 men, who were in their 30s and 40s, and worked on the cleanup at ground zero also died with similar symptoms as Zadroga. They all breathed in the same toxic chemical stew you called safe.

Approximately 40,000 rescue workers are at serious risk, because they worked on the site, directly exposed to the toxic mixture of chemicals at very close range for long periods of time.

Zadroga spent 470 hours at Ground Zero. But, as these workers get sick and die, frustrated public officials will be unable to track their health. The clinics are swamped and can't treat all the patients that have come in exhibiting 'World Trade Center Cough.'

The Spin
You can use the same spin you used earlier, when the bodies start to pile up in New York; "EPA and administration officials have said their actions were based on national security and must be viewed in the perspective that the White House was dealing with an unprecedented terrorist attack."

Those hero's who risked their lives to look for survivors and bodies never had a chance, and you knew it. You kept the toxicity of the air a secret. It was all for the money wasn't it.

Money talks while heros are expendable.

Mr. President,
I blame the media. Day after day they show burned out cars; bloody shoes on dusty streets, and bullet-ridden walls in Iraq and it must have taken its toll on our young men and women who once thought Iraq was like a cool video game. Mama boys are what they are. Why else would we consistently miss our recruitment goals?

The Army provides the majority of U.S. ground forces in Iraq and so has had a rougher time than the other services.

The Army has raised the maximum age, offered more money, added recruiters, accepted lower test scores, relaxed its ban on certain kinds of tattoos and even hired an ad agency.

Millions of dollars were spent, and they still missed their original goals. The Army claims they are achieving their targets, and they did, kind of, but only after lower the original monthly goals. They say they will increasing the goals in the later months of the year to compensate.

According to a recent Reuters article, even young U.S. Army officers are bailing out of active-duty service.

Last year, more than a third of the class of 2000 from West Point left active duty after meeting their five-year obligation. It was not the first time this has happened.
Retention rates of West Point officers have fallen steadily the last few years.

New incentives such as graduate school at the government's expense and the choice of home posts in exchange for three more years of service are helping to reverse the trend.

Everyone says Washington politics is a 'zero-sum' game. One faction wins only at the expense of someone else. Global politics does not have to be played along the same lines.

You like things simple don't you junior; it is either white vs inferior , good vs evil, christian vs heathens, rich vs poor.

Your approach on foreign policy is almost as simplistic.
You:

ignore countries and hope they will go away; like you are doing with the Israel-Palestine issue, and Darfur.
do not hold direct talks with any one country like; you are doing with North Korea and Iran.
shoot first and think later like you did with Iraq.
set up a committee of nations to agree with you; like you are doing with Iran and North Korea.

Just a few years later your approach is beginning to bearing fruits, anti-capitalist and anti-democratic fruits anyway.
One country after another is turning to either anti-capitalism or anti-democracy factions in Russia, China, South America and the Mid-East.

You have made so many mistakes it will take several historian to figure out which ones were worst. However your inability to maintain much less foster democracy has to be one of the more tragic errors of your presidency.

Your rhetoric about imparting democracy throughout the world is a worthy goal of a real world leader not a self-righteous neo-conservative with messianic tendencies.

Subsequently, Democracy is on the decline all around the world. Egypt, Palestine, Belarus, China, Jordan Saudi Arabia Iraq and Russia are all U.S. foreign policy disasters. Every country you push towards Democracy either drag their feet hoping you go away or pushes back. Almost every country you approach with a trade agreement seems to turns you away and refuses your enticement of foreign aid.

Egypt's President Hosni Mubarek has delayed municipal elections.

Palestine surprised you by electing Hamas leaders.

The election in Belarus was anything but democratic.

China continues to oppress free speech and civil rights.

In Jordan Plans for parliamentary elections in Qatar were postponed again.

The news media in Yemen, has been suppressed ahead of the presidential elections later this year.

Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah has refused the election of a consultative council and Iraq is well under way of becoming a theocracy.

Putin's government has taken over the press, nationalized the oil companies and uses it's oil and large natural gas supplies to punish pro-western countries like Ukraine while rewarding pro-russian countries like Belarus.

Lima and Italy have recently joined the left-leaning club. with the left leaning senate elected in Italy and with 84% of the vote in, two left-leaning candidates have pulled ahead in Peru's presidential runoff election.

Karl Marx would be proud of you.

Mr. President
Several generals will probably make life-altering career decisions based on the results of the detonation of the largest non-nuclear open-air chemical blast ever made. I guess you could call it a "daisy cutter" on steroids designed to penetrate underground bunkers 75' below the surface.

The Pentagon's planned detonation of a 700 ton explosive open-air chemical blast is probably the military's last opportunity to table Rummy's plan of using nuclear weapons in Iran. The rumor is that several generals will resign if nuclear weapons remain as a real option in Iran.

The original press release from the Pentagon stated that the test, code named "Divine Snake" will happen on June 2 about 90 miles northwest of Las Vegas.

I don't know whether I hope the test proves "Divine Snake" to be successful or not. Either way if we use them in Iran we will unleash the wrath of a billion Muslims.

Since Hiroshima and Nagasaki the idea of using nukes as a first strike weapon is unthinkable, something only a madman would consider and yet you and your cabinet believe that you alone can use these weapons because you have the opportunity and the guts to unseat the Iranian president.

Using nukes in Iran seems like a natural extension of the logic you used when you ordered a pre-emptive strike against Iraq. So why should we be surprised?

Iran presents some opportunities for Rummy to play with his new toys.

Rummy is itching to use his new "elite secret army" in Iran. This new group consists of highly specialized soldiers with unique technical and intelligence skills such as information operations, psychological operations, counterintelligence, and capable of executing covert activities. This secret army is the Proactive Preemptive Operating Group (P2OG).

No doubt, Rummy has already deployed some of these "eyes on the ground." There is no purview of this secret army by Congress because you say they are part of a military group that prepares the field for potential combat and does not report to the CIA.

I guess you can't help it. Your messianic beliefs drive you to consistently over reach. But, you also underestimate your capability of dealing with the consequences. It's no big secret that you plan on leaving the aftermath for others to clean it all up.

This is what America was like in the 50's. Will you have "duck and cover" drills for schools kids as well?

Safer nuclear weapons?

Mr. President,
We've really come a long way since the fall of the soviet empire. Russia has developed new strategic missiles designed to defeat U.S. missile defenses. and China has deployed three new types of long-range nuclear missiles. North Korea is openly developing nuclear weapons as well. And Iran may soon follow.

Then there is Pakistan, India and Israel who are all packing nukes as well.

So I guess it only makes sense for your administration to raise the stakes and design a new nuclear warhead in two new Energy Department nuclear weapons laboratories.

The warhead is just a piece of a nuclear modernization program revealed Wednesday before the House Armed Services subcommittee on strategic forces by Thomas P. D'Agostino, deputy administrator for defense programs in the department's National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).

NNSA Director Linton Brooks said in an interview yesterday, "the warhead is in many ways a "component replacement" program but that so many replacements and upgrades will be made that it could be considered new. It will be easier to build, use less dangerous materials and will involve new designs for greater safety, security and greater performance margins," he said.

How about that; we are making a safe nuclear warhead. Now that is a hell of an oxymoron.

If I could:
add in the amount of anti-american hatred you have garnered over your time in office.
multiply it times the number of unaccounted nukes from the old soviet union.
subtract the amount of "good will" you generated in the Mid-East.
add in new nukes from China and Russia and Korea.

Now you want to use nukes on Iran as a first strike weapon.

It makes me wonder if global warming is really that important.

It may be a low level but albeit new nuclear arms race at least until you are replaced with a saner, more competent president.
Our lot in life has certainly changed since the end of the old evil empire.
Ladies and gentlemen meet the United States the new evil empire.

Mr. President,
Recently, declassified reports exposes America's tacit support for one of the worst airline terrorist acts committed in the western hemisphere prior to September 11th.

On October 6, 1976 Cubana Flight 455 crashed after two time bombs exploded while the plane was in-route from Barbados to Cuba. The DC 8 crashed with no survivors. Among the 73 people who died were 24 members of the young 1975 national Cuban Fencing team that had just won all the gold medals in the Central American and Caribbean Championship.

Anti-Castro Cuban exile, Luis Posada Carriles is widely suspected as the mastermind of that 1976 bombing. One of Posada's group members checked in some baggage and left before the flight took off.

The United States knew his bombing plans beforehand but didn't warn Castro.

A declassified report from the CIA shown on ABC's Nightline in May 2005 also disclosed the significant relationship Luis Posada Carriles had with the CIA.

The telecast unveiled that both the FBI and the CIA knew of the plot. A CIA source had overheard Posada prior to the bombing in late September 1976 stating that, "We are going to hit a Cuban airliner."
The CIA trained Venezuelan Luis Posada Carriles in the early 60's. He also ran special demolition schools for south American insurgents, funded by the CIA.

A Venezuelan judge issued arrest warrants for Posada. He was apprehended, but while awaiting sentencing, he bribed his way out of prison in September 1985. Posada immediately went into hiding.
He eventually appeared in El Salvador to work with Lt. Col. Oliver North's illegal Iran contra operation. Lt. Col. Oliver North was later tried and convicted of multiple felonies including lying to Congress and shredding official documents.

This disgraced army officer shredded all the operation's documents. So no one knows how many White House cabinet members were involved in this illegal operation.To this day Ronald, Reagan's and then-Vice President George Bush's involvement is still questioned on this matter.

Posada went back into hiding until he was recently caught entering the United States illegally and is awaiting deportation hearings.

Posada is apparently cashing in his markers with the U.S. government and recently requested to be released from detention and allowed to live with his family in Miami. He has got some huevos grandes.

It is obvious Posada has some major republican connections, but there is no valid reason our State Department should not extradite Posada to Venezuela. He is a Venezuelan citizen who was heavily involved with a convicted member who committed the Cubana crime. He is also a fugitive who escaped from Venezuela's justice system during his trial for killing all those innocent people.

You stand before the world as a leader against terrorism junior.
So are you with the terrorists or against them? You shouldn't even think twice about it. Anyone who has sent over 2300 marines to their death to combat terrorists should be outraged at the thought we would not send Posada back for trial.

Congressman Tom Tancredo should be jumping up and down on every morning show, condemning the very "idea" that we even consider giving such a notorious illegal amnesty! Posada is no common illegal looking to pick fruit or mow lawns. He is a demolitions expert wanted for killing 73 people in the worst airline terrorist act before 9 11!

Sadly, but predictably you will probably give Posada's asylum. Because in Bushworld, politics trumps the Constitution, international treaties, the Bill of Rights, national security and morality.

Posada is a hero to many high-powered-Republicans and anti-Castro factions.

I can see Posada sitting in a comfortable chair on a Miami Beach, sipping on a Mojito, with his feet up, smiling as he gazes over the ocean-grave of his victims.

America what a country. Bush what a president.

When you went before the public in Chicago back in 2003 and discussed the Valerie Plame outing, you said You wanted to know who is leaking secrets. You also said they would pay for their actions.

Since you knew at the time you had authorized that leak, did you returned to your office and give yourself a stern warning? At best you are a liar, at worst you look like a traitor for outing a CIA spy. President George Bush, "Chief Leaker in Charge"

Every week it's a new disaster, a new embarrasement for you and your team at the White House. Another day another Bush lie is exposed. You have made many left-wing bloggers look like God-damned geniuses. Rght-wing pundits are getting weary of saying "it's just another partisan attack from left-wing media.

How many more body blows can you take before you restart your liquor and cocaine habit? Your cabinet is described as the "Katrina Administration." You have reached the height of incompetence; one would say your administration is the "Brownie " of our times.

At least you have made it to Broadway. A new play is opening in New York next week called "Stuff Happens."

Actors portray you, and your bubble-mates using real White House Cabinet member quotes for their dialogue. The actors who portray you and your staff are all on stage surrounded by the audience. Powell, "locked and seriously loaded Cheney," Rummy, Lap dog Blair and Chavez's girlfriend, Condi are all in The Public Theater production of "Stuff Happens." Powell is cast as the public conscience; you can imagine how you must appear as your quotes are read in a time line fashon.

Incidentally did you send Colin Powell a birthday card? He must feel relieved, vindicated, but sad. Didn't Powell say "if you break it you buy it?" But, you don't intend to fix Iraq and we all know that. The Iraqis are beginning to know that, and The Arab nations know that too. But, Haliburton sure got a helluva contract and that's what counts to the stockholders like Cheney.

Why did you changed your tune from mission accomplished to "wait 20 years and then you'll see a democratic Iraq?" Only a loser says "just wait till tomorrow." It doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

Iraq needs something more substantial that hard looks from Condi. You need to have a serious heart to heart, come-to-Jesus, ... ah, I mean a come-to Allah meeting with them. You should say, "listen Iraq you are a democracy because you voted, but you can't elect just anybody you want." "After all we paid good money for these elections."

Venezuela wants to be invaded. He is planning on taking money out of the pockets of your richest benefactors, the oil companies.

Call the Iraq war a victory tomorrow. Then pull the troops out of Iraq and send them into Caracas.

You have already taken the steps to bogey out of Iraq. You told Arabian countries that they had to contribute money to Iraq if they want stability in the region while you quietly pulled a significant amount of U.S. funding out of Iraq.
It seems like "Operation Abandon Iraq"/ "Operation Iraqi Independence" is under way.

President Chavez from Venezuela is in trouble.
He is treating poor people in Mexico for free, messing in that country's elections. Chavez is selling low cost fuel oil to Americans in the north east and now he wants to cap the price of Venezuelan oil to $50/barrel! That is at least a $15/ barrel cut from what Amoco and Mobil are charging! He also recently took over two oil fields when they refused to acknowledge Venezuela's new rules.that give the state extensive control over oil production

According to US sources, Venezuela holds 90% of the world's extra heavy crude oil deposits. Chavez also says he has 200 years worth of oil.

Chavez is messing with the forces of capitalism, he has crossed the line. The gods of capitalism and free trade are seriously offended, and retribution is required. This madman must be stopped at all costs!

If you hurry, you may get to him before his own people decide to do him in.

Venezuelan citizens are pretty pissed off when a bungled kidnapping resulted in the deaths of three teenage brothers. There is grief in Caracas, grief and rage against the authorities, who are blamed for rising crime.

Today, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Brian Doyle was arrested for obscenely propositioning an undercover agent he thought was a teenager.

He faces 23 charges regardeing the use of a computer to seduce a child and transmitting harmful materials to a minor. He is in a suburban Washington jail pending extradition to Florida.
So many people from your administration are in jail, under indictment, pleaded guilty or quit under pressure, you should be numb to it all by now.

You have to be so proud of your brother Jeb. When he sees an opportunity to thrust himself into the running for president in 08, he does it, even at the cost of using his wife's heritage.

He's Mexican wife must be very understanding or docile. Because he used her as a reason to position himself as a conservative candidate with a "heart" for suffering immigrants. He said he spoke out because the issue has distressed his wife.

Everyone wants that Hispanic vote. Republican National Committee Chairman Ken Mehlman recently spoke before the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to praise immigrants.

Since blacks have refused to join the GOP's racist platform, republicans have turned their attention to next best thing, Hispanics.

They say Jeb actually speaks Spanish fluently, and he supports some sort of immigration plan with some kind of path to citizenship while somehow beefing up border security. It sounds like a nice balance of "I like Mexicans if they become Americans but I hate terrorists."

If that doesn't sound like a politician running for office I don't know what does. All generalities with no specifics and a hint of "I'm for everybody"

You really screwed the Bush name up real well, If Jeb does run for president, he'll have to distance himself as far as possible from your disastrous "legacy."

He could possibly campaign as "I'm Jeb, the smarter brother." He will have to constantly implore "Honestly, I'm different." He could also say he was adopted at birth.

I don't doubt for a minute that he wants to run for president. It's just a shame how many hurdles and how large the hurdles you have placed in his path.

How does someone deal with the obvious comparison to the worst president in history, someone so hated throughout the world, someone so detested his name alone raised the bile in the throats of so many Americans?

Mr. President,
Venezuelan President, Hugo Chavez, does not have as much money as the United States to influence elections but $65 /barrel-oil offers him an opportunity to make lots of friends in South America.

He is providing free eye care, and all expense paid trips for 90 Yucatan Indians in Mexico via Venezuelan program called "Mission Miracle."

According to a recently released AP article, the program called, "Mission Miracle" began in 2004 and involves 11 South American countries. The Venezuelan personnel treated 135,300 people so far.This good will effort has several Mexican Presidential candidates in a tither.

Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, the leading left-leaning candidate running for President of Mexico is the obvious benefactor of this program and he has close ties with Condi's boyfriend, Venezuela's Hugo Chavez .

Health care is nonexistent in many poor Mexican towns. And while the other presidential candidates are crying foul, many patients are yelling "Si." And more important to Obrador many patients plan to vote in the upcoming election.

I wonder if they will vote for, a candidate who provides free health care to poor Indians?
I know you are hoping for a pro-american candidate to take office.
Hey smile there is still hope, maybe mexicans will vote for a candidate who supports big business, and conservative North American gringos who want to put fellow Mexicans in jail for picking fruit.

How many elections have gone awry for you so far. Venezuela, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, the Dominican Republic., Uruguay., Bolivia, Palestine, Iran, and Iraq. Did I forget anyone?

Although Rice came back empty handed again, you gotta give her combat pay for at least a "C" for trying.

She was booed everywhere she went and not allowed to one of the England's mosques because of impending demonstrations. She boasted about her love for the Beetles, but she could not answer a simple question about a famous Beetle lyric. She admitted you made thousands of mistakes in Iraq and sheepishly tried to recant it the next day. She finally responded to all the protests around her with a half-hearted comment about "Democracy as the only system that allows people to be heard and be heard peacefully."

She made an unannounced trip to Iraq. It seems "unannounced" is the only way any dignitary can get into Iraq. Once she was there, she scowled and spoke sternly to Iraqi leaders.

The only thing worse than a lame duck president is a lame duck Secretary of State.

i saw a little girl crying with a bluddy face on Tv.

i think she must have got scared frum the loud bom noises and fel down. I got scared sometimes on the forth of july pcnick when my mom an daddy takes me to see firewurks at night. i get too stay up late and sit on the grass.

The sky gets brite withe lots of color stars and thn the noise comes aftr. Sometimes the lowd noises scares me and i close my ears wit my hands.

The proposed physical wall along the Mexican border would already join a host of other walls you've built.

But, you couldn't have done it without Karl Rove.

One needs to understand certain aspects of your genesis, your rise to power, to understand today's walls of intolerance in America.

Times change, but people's insecurities don't. Regardless of how monstrous Hermann Goering was, he knew somethings about human frailties. He once said. "Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country."

History's lessons were not lost on Rove. His mastery of fear mongering and hate served you well as he choreograph your elections.

You parroted his words; words designed to cut like a cleaver through American society while ensuring a loyal base of voters; words that pandered to religious zealots, and homophobes; words that solidified the foundation of existing walls within American society.

As you traveled across America during your repeated bids for President; you used your conveniently-acquired Texan slang deftly. You pandered, you cajoled, you chided any indecision within your flock, like an old-time Bible-thumper at a hallelujah tent revival.

The deaths on 9/11 served as your main tool to exaggerate and play upon the fears of people who yearned for simple answers to complex issues. You stood on the graves 3,030 people to reach the height of American politics. 9/11 was the perfect terrorist act for the perfect fear-mongering Republican machine.

Your underlings preached a consistent message; to vote against you was voting against American principles and a vote for terrorists.

God and the Bible served as your weapons of choice to beat down opponents. The GOP platform was designed around breeding insecurity, hate and intolerance.

You tarnished left-leaning war heroes and magically changed their history of valor to questionable cowardliness.

After you were in office, neither moral or legal boundaries hampered your efforts to inflict pain on perceived national or international transgressors.

The outing of CIA spy Valerie Plame, the unlawful captivity of Guantanimo prisoners, the domestic spying and the transportation of suspected insurgents, are well-known examples of presidential hubris on a grand scale.

Your minions constantly tell us, we:
Are either patriotic and support you completely or we are traitors.

Are either pro-life or advocates of murder?

Must support marriage or support abominations before God.
Are either pro-family or we support Nazi-feminists.

Support either torture or terrorism.
Either support your views completely or should leave the country.

Should either be white God-fearing people or be feared and hated.

Lincoln once said that "a house divided could not stand."

I know he could never had fathomed that a future President of the United States could ever willingly divide America so maliciously yet so effectively. And for what? America's military power may be unequal, but it is increasing clear that it is based on a house made of sand and clay.

America is a maze of walls and although they were not created by your power grab. Your presidency constantly delineates, raises their height and fortifies them.

The intolerance towards immigrants is only the latest issue before the public. Daily protests by Mexican-American groups are raising the ire of Rep. Tom Tancredo's alter-ego group, the Minutemen, a vigilante group that patrols the country for immigrants. Minutemen are stepping up their efforts to answer the Mexican-American protests. A Mexican flag was recently burnt at a Colorado High School.

A sleeping giant has been awakened, and the tinder for a violent showdown is ready. You ask for calm, but you set this particular confrontation up years ago. And it may be out of your control.

This particular Republican "wedge" issue is being fought on the airways right now, but your underlings have taken your past messages of intolerance to heart and are running like a pack of wolves without you.

The United States is anything but united anymore on anything of substance on any issue Gallup, Zogby, or the Pew organization can come up with, unless it is your failed Iraq War and your disastrous presidency.

The Middle-East is lost. And although thousands of innocents have died around the world by your ineptitude, the potential death of America's once-proud legacy of a government "by the people and for the people" may be your most significant crime. And that Mr. President is what I believe, you will be remembered for.

You are as popular as a fart in church while Rummy admits he is beaten by a couple of dead-enders. I don't get it?

You spent $1.62 billion year to date, YTD, on advertising, public relations and you still wound up with the lowest of rating of your presidency?

If you didn't fabricate the reasons for war, you could have saved all that money. Getting people to believe the truth is cheaper because the proof speaks for itself. Lies take more effort and tons of money, because there is no proof.

Rep George Miller from California said your propaganda effort is unprecedented and disturbing. Boy, is that an understatement.

A study from the Government Accountability Office, GAO, recently issued a report that examined your wild spending efforts to keep the media in you hip pocket.

Hundreds of contracts were handed out like candy to Iraqi children. Hungry right-wing media groups chirped for million-dollar contracts, like little baby birds.

These vultures would sell their mothers for the right price. They mixed fiction with non-fiction as they created pro-war Web sites, pro -war soldiers' sound bytes. Pro-war, pro-Bush news was cranked out routinely by the Lincoln group for the benefit of iraq citizens.

Wouldn't it have been cheaper to just buy FOX outright and create a FOX franchise in Iraq?

And yet Rummy says we still lost the media war to the insurgents?
The mighty U.S admits it lost the communications battle after spending $1.62 billion YTD on pro-war, pro-America, pro-Bush custom-tailored news?

Did you see the writing on the wall ? I see you backing away with your hands up in the air proclaiming "Saddam is at fault" for causing the civil war.
