Happy Fourth of July kiddies
July/03/2006 01:57
Mr. President,
Across the country, this Fourth of July, millions of people will stake out their spots under the night sky and enjoy the multi-colored firework displays as they light up the night. Some small children will huddle up next to their parents as the noise from the bright exploding ordinance assault their small ears.
Thousands of miles away in Gaza small children are also huddling next to their parents and are crying in fear for a different reason. Israeli jets are intentionally flying at supersonic speed over their homes. The sonic booms are said to sound like the earth itself is exploding. The jets criss cross the skies over the refugee camp all night long .
The jets are just another tactic used by the Israelis to deprive and frighten the people into having their leaders hand over a hostage Israeli soldier that a group of radical Arabs kidnapped.
The electricity and water supplies have been bombed. The bridges around the camp have been destroyed as well.
Most of the people in Gaza have apparently hunkered down in their homes waiting for the inevitable Israeli assault. The food in the refregerators has long spoiled. Toilets have to be backing up because water systems and electricity for water pumps is not available; the smell must be horrific. Food is probably running out and any food they do have is probably useless without water and electricity to cook it with.
The whole Gaza strip will soon become a humanitarian disaster; ironically it has been orchestrated by a nation of people who themselves were tortured and murdered by the Nazis in Germany. They may say "Never forget" but they didn't say "Never do it to someone else." Its ridiculous to say they will put people in gas chambers but they are followed a disturbing pattern of escalating violence against innocent people who had nothing to do with the kidnapping of the Israeli soldier.
Israel stated they are going to go all out to get him back. Israeli blood is apparently a thousand times more valuable than Arab blood.
Thousands of Arabs have been killed followed by hundreds of Israelis killed in the ongoing battle.
I hate to break it to you but the Jews firing artillary shells into Gaza neighborhoods are not like the character Tevia from Fiddler on the Roof. The pilots shooting missles at Hamas government officials, are not the beared black-robed Hassidics you see on the streets of New York. The Israeli military have shown themselves to be just as savage and mercilessly as their Nazis captors were during 1930's in Germany.
The present siege of the Gaza strip looks like the infamous Krystall Nacht of 1938, the night of broken glass, when Hitler sent his brown shirts to break the windows of every Jewish home and business in Munich.
On the nights of November 9 and 10, 1938, gangs of Nazi youth roamed through Jewish neighborhoods breaking windows of Jewish businesses and homes, burning synagogues and looting. In all 101 synagogues were destroyed and almost 7,500 Jewish businesses were destroyed. 26,000 Jews were arrested and sent to concentration camps, Jews were physically attacked and beaten. About 91 died during those two days and it marked the beginning of Hitler's "final solution."
The cruelty shown to the jews in 1938 is reminiscent of what they are doing to the people of Gaza today.
Just to complete the scenario, Israel has also kidnapped a significant number of Palestinian government cabinet members, and have threatened to kill their Prime Minister.
No one knows how this will end but given the Israeli and Palestinian response to past events dictate that it won't end well for anyone including us.
One day those frightened children in Gaza may become tomorrow's jihadists. They will no doubt turn their hatred of Israel to the Americans who support them as well.
Our unfailing suppport for Israel and the fact we stationed our U.S military in their holy land, are the reasons our embassies were bombed, the U.S.S. Cole was attacked and the Twin Towers were brought down.
Future jihadists already have our occupation of Iraq to justify future attacks on our homeland, the seige of Gaza is just one more potential nail in the coffins of our chidren.
Its bad enough that the present generation of Americans are under threat of terrorist attack; your foreign policy has significantly increased the chances that those children clinging to us under the night sky this Fourth of July may live a continuous life of fear as well.
